Nemo Hannafin is an Executive Managing Director with Newmark’s Multifamily Capital Markets Debt & Structured Finance group in the Tysons office. Hannafin brings to his position more than 20 years of experience in real estate finance. He is responsible for debt originations utilizing FHA-insured and GSE programs throughout the U.S. Since joining the firm, he has worked closely with owners and developers on a variety of assignments, property types and funding sources.
Hannafin has been active in both new construction and the refinance/acquisition of affordable and market-rate housing transactions. Transactions closed have included large market-rate new construction developments, portfolio executions, conventional apartments, Section 8 preservation properties, LIHTC and tax-exempt bond financed deals, Section 202 refinancings and Section 236 decoupling deals. Prior to joining Newmark’s predecessor firm, Hannafin worked in the development and management of affordable housing.

Hannafin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Connecticut College.
