Peter T. Shimkin is a Vice Chairman at Newmark’s New York City headquarters, where he works closely with President of New York Tri-State Region David Falk in the representation of both tenants and owners throughout the New York Metropolitan area.
Since joining Newmark in 2003, Shimkin has been involved in some of the most transformative transactions in Manhattan and has become one of the premier leasing agents. He serves as the exclusive leasing agent for an array of prestigious buildings, including 1251 Avenue of the Americas (2.3 million SF), One World Trade Center (3 million SF), One Liberty Plaza (2.3 million SF), 75 Varick (1.2 million SF), 299 Park Avenue (1.5 million SF), 122 Fifth Avenue (300,000 SF) 85 Tenth Avenue (600,000 SF), 1700 Broadway (590,000 SF), 245 Park Avenue (1.8 million SF), 477 Madison Avenue (327,000 SF) and 315 Hudson Street (485,000 SF).
Shimkin has represented prominent tenants including Angelo, Gordon & Co.; Square Mile Capital Management; Friedman LLP; District Attorney of New York; Pace University; Corporation Service Company; RCM Technologies; RMC Research Corporation; the Major League Baseball Players Association; V-Me Media; Specific Media; Miss Universe Organization; Leeds Equity Partners; Teachscape; Saad Services Corporation; Kugman Associates; and The Bridgeford Group.
Professional and Personal Affiliations
Shimkin is a licensed attorney and real estate broker. He is a member of the New York Bar and The Real Estate Board of New York. In 2007, Shimkin was awarded Real Estate Weekly’s Rising Star Award for his vast accomplishments.
Education
Shimkin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Muhlenberg College and earned his Juris Doctorate at Hofstra University School of Law.
