Richard Gelber is a Senior Managing Director with Newmark specializing in landlord and tenant representation with over 20 years experience.
Gelber has successfully worked on behalf of landlords, including The Albanese Organization, Extell Development Company, KLM Equities, The Kibel Company, Manocherian Brothers, The Related Companies, Silverstein Properties, First Sterling Corporation, L+M Development Partners, Harbor Group International, Vornado Realty Trust and The Witkoff Group.
Some of Gelber’s accomplishments include leasing 15,000 square feet to Equinox for its Blink Fitness concept at 692 Broadway; 11,700 square feet at 956 Second Avenue to The Smith restaurant; 30,000 square feet to Morton Williams Supermarket at 1 West End Avenue; 7,600 square feet to Bonobos at 95 Fifth Avenue; 5,500 square feet to Arc’teryx at 149 Fifth Avenue; 9,300 square feet to OKTA at 920 Broadway; 2,400 square feet to Bond Vet at 1535 Third Avenue; 3,000 square feet to Peachy and 7,600 square feet to Chase both at 120 Broadway.
Gelber has also assisted various retailers with their Manhattan retail real estate requirements, including Chick-fil-A, Jenny Craig, L’Occitane en Provence, McDonald’s, Oliviers & Co., The Regis Corporation (Jean Louis David, Super Cuts and Vidal Sassoon) and UFC Gyms. Additionally, he has helped Citibank, Capital One, and Cohen’s Fashion Optical secure several locations throughout Manhattan.
Gelber joined Newmark in 2019, when parent company Newmark Group, Inc. acquired RKF, a New York-based retail real estate brokerage and investment firm. Prior to RKF, he worked at Retail Development Partners, where he was responsible for the retail leasing of Millennium Partners’ urban area portfolio.
