Robert A. Silver joined Newmark as a Director in May 1988; he was promoted to Managing Director in 1993; Senior Managing Director in 1999 and Executive Managing Director in 2006. He has been an active leasing broker/consultant in the New York Metropolitan area for the past 34 years, during which time he has been responsible for the leasing of more than 6 million square feet.
During his tenure with Newmark, Silver has represented a wide variety of companies; many of which are in creative fields such as advertising, fashion, entertainment and non-profit. Among the clients he has served are Deutch, Inc., Virgin Records, Taconic Capital Advisors, The Gap, Marvel Entertainment, The Markle Foundation, The Fortune Society and Golenbock Eiseman Assor Bell and Peskoe.
Silver is also known as one of the New York City’s most effective leasing agents and has been well touted as a creative and effective marketing person. Over the years he has represented such prestigious landlords as Tishman Speyer Properties, The Winter Organization, Goldman Sachs, Cohen Brothers and The Moinian Group.
He served on the Board of Governors for the Young Men’s/Women’s Real Estate Association of New York. He also is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY).
Education
Silver graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science Degree.
