Scott Read joined Newmark’s Newport Beach office in May 1989 (formerly known as Grubb & Ellis Company). He specializes in representing private owners, corporations and financial institutions in the sale or lease of commercial properties located in Southern California. During his 33-year commercial real estate tenure, Mr. Read has been involved in the sale of over 250 acres of commercial land and the sale/lease of approximately 25 million square feet of commercial building area, with a total transaction value of approximately $3 billion.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Read has gained a level of expertise covering all facets of commercial real estate brokerage, including property sales and leasing, property development, land sale transactions, build-to-suit transactions, tenant representation, joint venture development and ground leases. Mr. Read also gained experience with commercial development through his work as a partner in a local development firm from mid 2007 through early 2009.

Mr. Read holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a Business Administration emphasis from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).
