Scott R. Tonneson, MAI, serves as an Executive Vice President and Specialty Practice Leader for Newmark Valuation & Advisory’s Residential Development practice. Tonneson has more than 25 years of real estate appraisal and consulting experience with expertise in the valuation of all types of land and residential development property, including proposed acquisition and development (A&D), master floor plans, remaining inventory in subdivisions and planned unit developments (PUDs), mixed-use projects, retirement/second-home communities and condominiums.
Tonneson has provided appraisal and consulting services on a variety of commercial and investment properties, including office, retail, industrial, multifamily, daycare, self storage, auto dealerships, golf courses, marinas, and agricultural uses. Extra specialties include residential market analysis and feasibility studies.
Additionally, Tonneson has been qualified as an expert witness over 100 times in over 30 Superior Courts throughout Georgia and US Federal Bankruptcy Court. Confirmation upheld by GA Court of Appeals in August 2011.
Prior to joining Newmark, Tonneson worked in the Valuation & Advisory group at Cushman & Wakefield of Georgia for 16 years, most recently as Executive Director and head of the Residential Development Specialty Practice Group in the Southeast.

Education
Tonneson earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of West Georgia. More recently, he has completed the continuing education requirements of the Appraisal Institute.
