Seena Stein is the founding partner of Newmark’s New Jersey office. She possesses over 35 years of experience in commercial real estate and has represented such companies as Bristol-Myers Squibb Company, Citigroup, Equitable Life Assurance, Forest Laboratories, Inc., Goldman Sachs & Co., JP Morgan Chase & Co., Knight Trading Group and Morgan Stanley. In addition, she has represented property owners such as Lefrak, Mack-Cali and UBS, among numerous others. She is adept at all aspects of commercial real estate, from tenant representation and leasing agency work to investment sales.
Over the course of her career, Ms. Stein has completed many notable transactions, including: a 266,000-square-foot transaction for Knight Trading Group, a 244,356-square-foot lease on behalf of Equitable Life Assurance, a 205,000-square-foot lease for Forest Laboratories, Inc., a 157,685-square-foot investment sale on behalf of JEMB Realty as well as numerous other investment sales.
Prior to joining Newmark in 1994, Ms. Stein was senior vice president and director of sales and leasing for Jacobson, Goldfarb & Tanzman Associates (JGT) for more than eight years. Previously, she was vice president and director of sales and leasing for Helmsley Spear. Ms. Stein also owned her own company, Seena Stein, Inc., which specialized in corporate real estate.
Ms. Stein currently serves on the NAIOP board of directors and is a past president of both the New Jersey Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) and the Industrial & Office Real Estate Brokers Association (IOREBA). Additionally, Ms. Stein is a member of the New Jersey Division of CoreNet and a trustee at Monmouth Real Estate Institute at Monmouth University. A member of the President’s Council of both Monmouth and Purdue Universities, Ms. Stein is also the chairperson of the board of trustees of Jersey City Medical Center - Barnabas Health in Jersey City, New Jersey.
Ms. Stein is a founding member of Industrial/Commercial Real Estate Women (ICREW) and is listed in Marquis Who’s Who and Who’s Who of American Women. She has been honored on numerous occasions by such organizations as Business News, New Jersey’s Who’s Who (2002), NJ Business Leaders and Women Business Leaders (2001). In 2010, she was honored by Crossing Borders as New Jersey Commercial Real Estate Woman of the Year. Most recently, in 2012, she received the Humanitarian Award from the American Conference on Diversity and the NAIOP Humanitarian Award.
Ms. Stein holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Rutgers University. She also holds a master’s degree in information science and a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University.
