Shawn Klein joined the firm’s Emeryville (now Oakland) office in 2005 as an Industrial Specialist along the I-880 Corridor. Klein was named “Rookie of the Year” in her first year. In 2007, she joined the newly formed Hayward office (also relocated to Oakland), where she specialized in full service tenant and landlord representation in sales and lease transactions and was one of the top producers in that office in her first year and again in 2010. Klein covers the industrial/R&D markets along the I-880 Corridor including Oakland, San Leandro, Hayward and Union City. Her expertise also includes the representation of national tenants in the retail market. She is responsible for new site acquisition and development throughout the Bay Area. Prior to joining Newmark, Klein worked for TRI Commercial along the I-880 Corridor as an industrial specialist.
Before entering the profession of commercial real estate, Klein worked for Bay Area Kenworth and Technology Chemical in Oakland, California, where she developed her knowledge of the East Bay industrial and retail markets. In 2000, she received the Club 50 award from Nissan Diesel of America, recognizing her achievement as a top-selling producer. She was the first woman to receive this prestigious award during the 15 years that Nissan Diesel was in the U.S.
Having the knowledge of the East Bay industrial markets and longtime sales experience, Klein’s commitment to both tenants and landlords has helped her achieve her goals. Her strengths include assisting small and large users alike.
