Sid Tidwell, MAI is a First Vice President in Newmark Valuation & Advisory’s Washington, DC office and has been providing valuation and consulting services since the mid-1980s. His extensive experience includes a wide variety of asset types including, but not limited to, office buildings, shopping centers, industrial properties, residential subdivisions, office condominiums, raw and developed land, and special use properties. A variety of client types have relied on Tidwell’s reports including lenders, attorneys, governmental agencies and property owners. Clients have utilized his appraisals for acquisitions, condemnation, estates, and mortgage financing.
Tidwell joined Newmark Valuation & Advisory in 2017, when the firm acquired several affiliates of Integra Realty Resources (IRR). Tidwell achieved the prestigious MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute in 2012 and had worked for IRR for 14 years, most recently as Director, at the time of the acquisition.
Prior to IRR, Tidwell was associated with Ronald S. Foster & Co., Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia, working as a senior level appraiser from 2000 to 2003. From 1999 to 2000, he was a Property Tax Manager for Surplus Solutions, Inc., an asset management and disposition company based in Atlanta. There, his duties included valuations and property tax management for clients and franchisees with restaurants and retail assets nationwide.
Tidwell was a Senior Real Estate Specialist with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) from 1993 to 1999. His duties included the acquisition of land sites for navigational aids and communication facilities, as well as leasing of office space for administrative and technical personnel in the southeastern region of the FAA. Additional duties included valuations and appraisal reviews.
From 1986 to 1993, Tidwell was a Senior Commercial Appraiser for Gwinnett County Tax Assessor’s Office where he valued all types of property for assessment purposes.
