Spencer Schobert joined Newmark Global Corporate Services in 2019 as a Senior Managing Director with the Global Strategy consulting team in San Francisco. Schobert is a recognized global expansion and location strategy expert with broad experience across multiple verticals, including consumer products, technology, life sciences, financial services, retail, shared services and government relations.
Schobert brings more than 18 years of experience to Newmark. He previously helped HP Inc. align internal corporate stakeholders to its global portfolio and footprint decisions. This followed more than 17 years with Deloitte Consulting, where he guided senior leadership of Fortune 500 companies through problem identification, analysis and recommendations, creative problem solving and driving consensus for implementation.
Schobert has worked throughout the U.S. and North America and in 20 countries across Asia, Latin America and Europe. On many of his assignments, he assisted clients with shared service center and back office operational deployments. He also focused on talent and labor market considerations and overall operating environment evaluations.
Representative Work
- Partnered with stakeholders across functions (human resources, strategy, workforce planning, finance, real estate, communications, public relations, legal), internal businesses and external consultants to drive decisions to hub or close global operations based on critical activity
- Structured and delivered complex international location strategy projects, including identification of client objectives and measures, driving cross-functional consensus building, analyzing quantitative and qualitative tradeoffs, business case development, and development and presentation of recommended solutions to executive teams
- Led negotiations with dozens of economic development organizations; developed creative non-monetary and financial solutions to offset investment costs to benefit clients and communities
Education
Schobert is a graduate of the Foster College of Business at Bradley University, in Peoria, Illinois, where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
