Steve Siegel is a Director in the retail services group with Newmark. Mr. Siegel brings to his position 26 years of professional experience in real estate including tenant representation, leasing and development.
Since 2000, Mr. Siegel has been responsible for leasing Newmark’s shopping center portfolio and representing the firm’s retail tenants. He has completed leases with several national retailers including Babies R Us, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Best Buy, Kohl’s, Michael’s Crafts, Office Depot, PetSmart, Staples and TJ Maxx.
In addition, Mr. Siegel is currently responsible for the retail/restaurant leasing within the Grandview Yard mixed-use development located in Grandview Heights/Columbus and the Arena District mixed-use project located in downtown Columbus, both under development/ownership by Nationwide Realty Investors.
Mr. Siegel joined Newmark in 1999 as a retail specialist responsible for leasing big box and grocery-anchored shopping centers within the Continental retail development portfolio. His responsibilities also included retail/restaurant leasing in the 1.3 million-square-foot Arena District Development in Columbus. He completed leases with BD’s Mongolian BBQ, Biersch Brewery Restaurant, Gordon Biersch Brewery, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Jimmy John’s, Rodizio Grill, Starbucks and Ted’s Montana Grill. Mr. Siegel has also completed many outlot purchase/lease transactions with regional and national outlot users including Chick-Fil-A, Chase Bank, Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, O’Charley’s and Red Robin.
Mr. Siegel began his real estate career in 1990 with Equis Corporation, representing tenants exclusively in the metro Chicago area. In 1992, Mr. Siegel transferred to Equis’ office in Los Angeles, where he represented Chicago Title Insurance Company on an exclusive basis throughout California on new lease transactions and renewal negotiations.

A member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Mr. Siegel regularly attends meetings in Chicago, Las Vegas, New York, Columbus and other cities in order to market properties and identify sites for regional and national retailers.

Mr. Siegel received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northwestern University.
