Thao Nguyen serves as a Vice President in Newmark Valuation & Advisory’s Dallas office. As an Affordable Housing specialist, she will leverage previous years of experience in valuing low-income tax credit (LIHTC) properties throughout Texas and northern California. She has extensive knowledge in reviewing housing regulatory agreements and understands the value constraints related to rent-restricted communities as well as their substantial tax benefits. She will also work closely with our New York team in providing reports for HUD-FHA insured mortgages of multifamily developments via their Multifamily Accelerated Processing (MAP) platform.
Nguyen’s real estate career began in 2002 in asset management, followed by her position as a CMBS underwriter at GE Capital. She was also the Manufactured Housing and RV (MHRV) valuations specialist at Collier’s before moving to San Francisco. Here she worked with CBRE’s valuation group where she specialized in MHRV and LIHTC valuations before transferring back to Dallas with CBRE’s Investment Property Sales team brokering MHRV communities. She has spoken at various MHRV venues throughout Texas to promote and educate park-owners on how to add value to their communities and is also an Adjunct instructor at a local college where she teaches real estate finance and agency courses.
