William joined Newmark in 2019 when parent company Newmark Group, Inc. acquired RKF, a New York-based retail real estate brokerage and investment firm.
He began his career with RKF in 2018 as a canvasser in the firm’s New York office and worked to update brokers on new opportunities, prospect relevant trade areas, and collect market information. He is now an Associate Director working alongside Executive Managing Director Ross Kaplan, specializing in both landlord and tenant representation.
Some of Mr. Chaplin’s recent successes include leasing 4,358 square feet at 20 Astor Place to Raising Canes for their NYC debut, leasing 6,700 square feet at 195 Montague Street (Brooklyn) to Citibank as well as securing Venchi’s Upper West Side location at 198 Columbus Avenue, their NoMad location at 1178 Broadway, their Upper East Side location at 1115 Lexington Avenue and continuing to represent the Italian chocolatier in its Manhattan rollout. He also represented Dolce Vita Shoes in finding their flagship store at 489 Broadway in SoHo. On the landlord side, Mr. Chaplin is currently representing, among others, Extell Development at 2360-2372 Broadway and 1520 First Avenue, Gural Family Properties at 20 Astor Place and 740 Broadway; The Klein Group at 660 Columbus Avenue, 20 Pine Street, and 111 Fulton Street.
Mr. Chaplin is a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of New York and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY).
Education
Mr. Chaplin attended Syracuse University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management.
